MOD Pizza: This is not a pizza place

As Executive Creative Director, Branson was tasked with elevating MOD Pizza’s brand presence while maintaining the company’s core values of individuality, community, and social impact. His primary focus was on experiential design, visual branding, and creative storytelling across nearly 300 unique stores, his team designed over 30 months. MOD Pizza opening a new location every 4 days, propelling them to be the fastest-growing QSR in the U.S. for five consecutive years.


MOD Pizza was growing rapidly, and with expansion came the need for a consistent brand identity across various formats, while maintaining a local, community-driven feel in each store. Additionally, the brand’s focus on social impact needed to be communicated clearly to both customers and employees, without overshadowing its core product—pizza. So he created a 16 minute documentary on the employees. He travelled 9,300 miles across the U.S. in a motorhome in 1 month filming and getting exposed to all these amazing people working at MOD. The film was also divided up into individual stories and spread across social media.
